Holiday gift re-cap

I finished Jeff's hat, and my sister Catie loved her handspun mittens (Cloudlover wool-silk!)

My parents enjoyed their gifts too - handspun socks for my dad in Cloudlover SW Merino - "Morel", and superwash BFL mittens and earwarmer for my momma:

Sid Vicious (real name) was lookin' fly for the occasion, as he channeled his inner billy-goat climbing the mountain of presents.

I said, "Treats!" as I snapped the photo to make his ears pop up... I'm mean.
I finished the Love You To Death socks for Brian, he really likes them. Totally his style!

And my mother-in-law loved her sweater. It was so awesome to give this to her, I put a ton of work into it and she really deserves it.

All the knitted gifts were well received. I'm glad I did fewer this year, to keep from going overboard.

On Christmas Eve I made a veggie version of the old gumbo recipe we served at the Java Joint. I used shrimp and Tofurkey sausage, as well as tomatoes, celery, onions, rice, and peppers. It turned out really well, and I thought the colors looked festive too.

Still have a New Year post percolating, and I'm trying to finish my last 2011 sweater (3/4 of a sleeve to go!), so I'll be back soon!

  1. Everything looks so good and I love all the pictures. Your family looks like they have a lot of fun. I knit exactly one Christmas gift this year, a hat for my BIL. He LOVES beanies and always asks Phill "Did she knit me something this year?", so, I couldn't disappoint him.

  2. LOL - I am more impressed with all the wonderful pictures than the lovely knitting! I managed to get my Christmas knitting done but had complete fail on the picture front! Beautiful hand knitted gifts and they all look so appreciated. Happy New Year!

  3. Beautiful knitting, and it looks like the recipients really appreciate it!

Looks like a great Christmas, hope you have a Happy New Year!
