Tour de Fleece

It's been a bit crazy around here at the end of June. I switched positions again, leaving one program and getting oriented at another. I have a bunch of nutso licensing stuff for my social work license, it's really been stressing me out. Brian was in a wedding this weekend:

We're pretty snazzy.
The Tour de Fleece started. I'm not going to go into all the details so feel free to google it if you care to. Basically, my goal this year is spin fiber that I've had for over a year. I started with some fiber my uncle and aunt bought me at the Wisconsin state fair a few years ago:

I'm spinning it in this gradient, and will be plying it with natural white wool. I don't even know how much is here all together, but I think it will be enough to knit a blanket!

My second bobbin is almost full, so probably 10 ounces total of the batts? It's very rustic, lots of nupps and VM to pick out as I go along. I'm spinning it fast and lumpy bumpy, nothing too perfect.
I got to spend some time spinning with my homie Leah at Munsinger Gardens yesterday. We found a perfect shady spot and had a blast spinning, talking, and enjoying the nice weather.

Last year I really did a high-pressure spin, busting out almost 2 pounds for a sweater's worth of yarn. This year, I'm trying to be much more laid back and relaxed. I'm enjoying the spinning so far!

  1. And you actually knit the sweater too didn't you? Looking forward to seeing your gradient yarn.

  2. You and hubby look so cute, even with your goofy faces. The spinning time in the park looks amazing!
