I cast on some Monkey socks last October for Socktober, in the Socktoberfest colorway from Scout's Swag. And I kind of putzed on them, knitting a few rows here and there, putting down for a few weeks before picking up. I just really didn't like them, and they seemed a little small, but I pressed on.
Well, they're now done and something is wrong, wrong, wrong.
I don't know if my gauge changed, or if I used the wrong size needles (even though I wrote down what needles I used!), or if I started the heel at the wrong time - and I don't really want to know. I just want to bury these socks in the back of the yarn closet, and fondle this:
Good thing Leah could be convinced to part with it. She pulled out a bag to show off new fiber and I was completely entranced. I'm not even sure if I actually looked at the other stuff she showed me! It's hard to tell from the pic, but the base fiber isn't white, it's a mix of deeper natural shades, and the colors have incredible dimensionality. I was instantly in love, and we struck a deal very quickly. Thanks, Leah!
Socktoberfest socks? What? I don't remember anything about those... Just this sweet, rainbow-y mixed BFL goodness...
Pretty fiber!
ReplyDeleteYour socks remind me of the multiple sweaters I have started this winter and failed on. Ugh.
There's gotta be a human out there somewhere that would fit these socks perfectly!
